BillNgai is a local-first app: your documents, clients and business data are stored on your Mac, and — only if you turn on Pro sync — in your own Google Drive. There is no BillNgai account, analytics, tracking, or advertising.

The app never transmits your documents, client data, business information, or usage data to us — except the sync coordination data in section 2 when you turn on sync.

If you turn on sync (a Pro feature), your documents, clients and business data are stored as files in a “BillNgai Workspace v3” folder in your own Google Drive, using the narrow drive.file scope (the app can only see files it created). This content never passes through our servers. To keep document numbers unique and concurrent edits from overwriting each other, the app uses the BillNgai sync coordination service (on Cloudflare), which stores only: your Google account ID (not your password), record IDs and content fingerprints (hashes), Drive file IDs, document numbers and counters, and a hash of your Pro key. It does not store client names, line items, amounts or document content; your Pro key is sent to verify access but not stored. Sign-in tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain on your device. You can stop syncing in Settings → Data & backup (local data stays) or revoke access in your Google Account at any time. Google's handling of your Drive data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Client details you enter (names, addresses, tax IDs) remain on your device under your control. You are the data controller; we have no access.
